Designing a corporate identity for the social business Chickpeace, that is based in Hamburg and run by women from refugee backgrounds.
Although the Chickpeace women may have had to flee their homes and former jobs, now that they are in Hamburg, they’re back in business. As a visual identity for the catering business, loved created a vibrant, colorful and striking dot pattern that takes its cue from the shape of a chickpea. This is overlaid with the outlines of Eritrea, Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan – the countries where the women are from. Other design elements reference ingredients typically found in Arabic cuisine, such as half a pomegranate.
