With the summer issue, we encourage readers to leave their comfort zones. It portrays people whose achievements break new ground, such as solo sailor Istvan Kopar who single-handedly circumnavigated the globe in one of the world’s toughest races using only analog navigational instruments from Wempe. To showcase the season’s jewelry and watches, we opted for a safari shoot in Africa. As a tribute to the new Wempe chronometer with tide display, we explore ebb and flow. Finally, we show that a robust watch is just the companion when indulging in various outdoor sports activities that may have been on a good many to-do lists for a while.
